In this workshop, we intend to explore following issues and questions:

  • What does it mean to be a Korean American in the 21st century?
  • What is Korean American history and identity, especially in relation to other minority groups?
  • What is and should be the role of Korean American churches?
  • How can we create a more inclusive Korean American community that includes the adoption community, war-brides, and children of interracial marriage?
  • What lessons have Korean Americans learned from the LA riots?
  • What is the 1.5 generation? What is the role of the emerging generation and their relations to the immigrant generation?
